Comedian Chung Jong Chul's wacky bald character Mappak, from KBS's popular comedy show, has taken a huge jump to the silver screen. Mappak the Champion stars Chung Jong Chul (Baribari Zzang, Little Brother) in the title role, and features guest appearances by many of his TV partners-in-crime like Park Jun Hyung, famous for his Galgalri character and Oh Ji Heon (a.k.a. "The Man In Red Innerwear). Taking place at a martial arts training center, the film follows Mappak, a 17-year-old boy with a peculiar baldness who is bequeathed a legendary fighting technique. Filled with advanced wirework, meticulous martial arts sequences and elaborate special effects, this inspirational zero-to-hero tale is nothing like the typical kiddy movies made previously by Chung, and instead offers plenty of laughs and chuckles for all generations.

Cursed by his family's genes, Mappak was born with a distinct baldness on top of his head. Always self-conscious from attracting unwanted attention, Mappak nevertheless possesses a heart of gold. When his grandmother - and only surviving family - passes away, Mappak sets out for the big city in search of a new life. Smitten by a young girl named Yuri and looking for any possible way to get close to her, Mappak enrolls himself in a martial-arts training center, owned and operated by none other than Yuri's brother. It's a good plan, but Mappak makes an innocent mistake that puts the center in danger. However, a legendary fighting art requiring the use of one's forehead miraculously gets passed down to Mappak. Soon, a remarkable hero is born.
