In the movie "Nameless Gangster", Choi Min-sik takes on the role of Choi Ik-hyeon, who is not a gangster and not a civilian but a 'half-gangster' and pro lobbyist, while Ha Jung-woo plays Choi Hyeong-bae, boss of the biggest gang in Busan. Each modified their body for ultimate effect.

Choi Min-sik put on more than 10kg to emphasize the kidn of character the uses all sorts of trickery and 100% mendacity to survive. Along with a Busan dialect, this perfects Choi Ik-hyeon, a character full of desire to become number one in Busan.

Ha Jung-woo tattooed his entire body to display the charismatic look of a gang boss. In addition to his Busan dialect, boss-style hair, moustache and suit, he marked entire side of his body with a false tattoo. To create a realistic-looking work of art, it took six tattooing professionals 8~9 hours of hard work to complete it all along his chest, arms, back and sides.

Having stayed up all night before the day of the shoot doing the tattoo, Ha Jung-woo would appear on set with bloodshot eyes sometimes. It was hard work trying to maintain all the details in the film since it had to be erased and newly drawn for each scene. Additionally, the pain the sharp pens cause when they poke his skin is almost the same as the real thing, they say.

"Nameless Gangster" will be released on the 2nd of February.
