Montreal, July 23, 2009 - Ciné-Asie Creatives, a Montreal-based distribution and coproduction company, has acquired the Canadian distribution rights to the award-winning Korean feature film,
"Breathless" by first-time director
Yang Ik-joon. With just a few days prior to its premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival, Ciné-Asie Creatives are proud to announce its second distribution title after
Lee Yoon-ki's award-winning feature "
My Dear Enemy" this fall.
"Breathless" powerfully depicts a story of a low-life debt collector in Seoul, Korea.
Yang Ik-joon (credited as writer, director and producer of this film) stars as Sang-hoon, a violent and unscrupulous gangster with a difficult past comes across Yeon-hee (played by
Kim Kkobbi), a high school girl with an equally difficult present. After a rather precarious start, the two manage to form a fast friendship of sorts amidst the hardships of their daily life.
"Breathless" is set to be released in 2010
