CJ E&M's Performing Arts Division Launches Collaborative Development Project "Creator Lab"

Asia's leading content and media company CJ E&M announces that its performing arts division has launched a collaborative development project, named Creator Lab, to encourage musical professionals to mutually cooperate to create original theatrical for global audiences.
 
First introduced in Korea by CJ E&M, Creator Lab is a project that allows various musical professionals, including writers and directors, to openly share ideas and develop content throughout the whole production process. Creator Lab is to encourage emerging playwrights to work with veterans to create original content targeting a worldwide audience, particularly those in China and Japan, where CJ E&M has already extended its entertainment business.
 
Currently, 10 promising Korean creators are participating in the project, and as part of their first compilation, initial scripts are being created for the musicals 'The Man Who Laughs (working title)' and 'The Black Tulip', respectively.
 
CJ E&M is a pioneer in introducing collaborative development system in Korea. It plans to cater to the appetite of Asian fans who are eager to see more theatre shows produced by Korean artists and performers. The popularity of original Korean musicals has been rapidly rising over the past decade. Launched in Daehak-ro, referred to as Broadway of Asia, the hit musical 'Finding Mr. Destiny' (also produced by CJ E&M) was put on stage in 2014, simultaneously in Korea, China and Japan for the first time.
