YesAsia Editorial Description

Funny, heartwarming, and completely charming, MBC drama Coffee Prince (a.k.a. The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince) has been the big romantic surprise of 2007. Following her memorable role in Palace, sassy starlet Yoon Eun Hye gives another career-defining performance, cutting her hair short for a lovable, gender-bending role. Also at their best are her co-stars Lee Seon Gyun from The Great White Tower and heartthrob Gong Yoo (One Fine Day), in his last drama before heading off to army service. A huge hit in South Korea, Coffee Prince is both a romantic comedy of errors and a sensitive urban drama about the dreams and confusions of young people.

Rich, irresponsible, and hot-tempered, Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) can't figure out what he wants to do with his life, but he knows he's not interested in the family business or all these blind dates his grandmother keeps arranging. Mistaking the brash, boyish-looking Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) for a guy, he hires her to pose as his boyfriend and scare off his blind dates! At his grandmother's prodding, Han Kyul agrees to run a coffee shop for three months, and ends up hiring Eun Chan again, this time as a barista. Still disguised as a man, Eun Chan is happy as a clam working at Coffee Prince, developing a close friendship with Han Kyul and his musician cousin Han Sung (Lee Seon Gyun). But things get complicated when Eun Chan and a confused Han Kyul begin to fall for each other.

satisfying Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The movie was good. I gave it a shot and came out amazed at all the actors. I was a bit disappointed at the end but I think it was because they didn't know how to end a good movie...I didn't have any expectations, except was expecting the guy who played opposite of Eun-Hae to be more charming, but he grows on you after a few episodes. Great script, great acting and directing! If you want to watch this movie, don't buy it...watch it on youtube first and then buy it.

Cute Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I watch a lot of Korean dramas and the best part about this drama was that no one died in it (like so many other dramas I've seen). It's a cute story and Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo are hilarious together. Actually, all the 'coffee princes' work well together and make for some funny scenes.

Not giving anything away, but the ending was a little disappointing for me only because it wasn't really how I expected it to end. All in all, I say give it a shot, if you like happy dramas with some good laughs.

Okay Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
I finished watching this and it was hard to finish. The acting was good but the story line drove me crazy. Yoon Eun-Hae character was disgusting. All she did was eat with her mouth full or cry all the time. It was pissing me off. They did a good job of picking her for the role she is not attractive at all but the fact that she came from a singing group she can act. The other three characters were really good as well, especially the maturity that was displayed between Lee Seon-Gyun and Chae Jung-An. I would recommend it the acting will outway the sometim.es bad story line

became a dissapointment Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I seem like the odd one out....seems like a lot of people liked this drama, after reading all the reviews. I guess movie lover and I are the only one's that were not impressed with this series.

The begining was actually good for me. I enjoyed it a lot. I was laughing really hard on parts and found myself smiling, and getting exited to watch this series.

However, once the drama got to episode 6 or 7, the movie did not improve towards the end of the drama that lasts till 17 episodes. So for 10 episodes nothing really exiting happends, and i felt like the producers were draggin the show out. I HATED the ending part as well and something else that occurs in the drama that you normally don't see in korean dramas.

Anyhoo, i thought this drama had a lot of potential especially in the first 6 to 7 episodes, but lost my attention span after that.
