The female comedy trio Americano, known for its appearances on tvN's "Comedy Big League", is to disband.
The cable channel announced on Thursday that Ahn Yeong-mi, Kim Mi-ryeo and Jeong Joo-ri have decided to part ways in order to further their careers.
"At this point, the three feel as if they've reached their optimum as a team. In short, they have generated many laughs trying new things, but as long as they remain together they won't be able to come up with more new things", said a representative from the program.
The trio was one of the 10 groups that performed on the sketch comedy show. The three comediennes rose to fame with the sketch "A Kind of Job Interview", in which the three comics portray oddball characters who go on job interviews.
According to the channel, Ahn and Kim will appear on the show in new teams starting in season three, which starts May 12, while Jeong has temporarily left the show due to her busy schedule.
