There will be a chance of recognizing greatness of Korean alphabets which are scientific and artistic as well as finding some new possibilities of Korean alphabets in the aspect of cultural contents industries.
The chance will be made in a forum called 'Design of Korean Alphabets and Cultural Contents Industries' which has been prepared to celebrate 562nd birthday of Huminjeong (the Korean script.) by Korea Character Business Association (President: Jong-Won Lee)
On 6th Seung-Il Shin, who is the director of Korean Wave Strategy Study, was invited for Namsan Character Forum which has been held in Seoul Animation Center. He provided his opinions on possibilities of Korean alphabets design industries and the government's policies.
He pointed "If unique Korean alphabets design products are developed by adding Korean alphabets with Korean Wave and IT technologies of Korea which is a strong nation of digital businesses, Korean cultural businesses, which is a new business area, will be very competitive" and "so the government's active support and policies are necessary".
Some desired policies were suggested like Cheongwadae (the President Mansion), the government sectors, or district governments have to buy cultural products having Korean design as presents for foreigners or they can make legislation so related sectors like Ministry of Knowledge Economy must use Korean design in packing design.
Pyeong-Bo Shim, who is the vice president of Korea Character Business Association, said "If Korean alphabets design is added with character industries, interesting, creative, and various cultural contents will be developed" and "Korean alphabets will be a good catalyst which improves imagination and creativity of knowledge businesses.
