Director Hwang Chul-min's "Spying Cam" Wins Award at Brisbane Film Festival

According to Kim Ji-suk, a programmer of the Pusan International Film Festival, on August 10, director Hwang Cheol-min's "Spying Cam" (2004) won the NETPAC Award at the 14th Brisbane International Film Festival in Australia, which came to a close on August 8.

"Spying Cam" is a story about a man working as an informant for an intelligence agency at a university during the 1980s and the intelligence agent keeping him under surveillance. The film unfolds in episodes, beginning with the two hiding in a motel on the outskirts of Seoul.

"Spying Cam" has won awards and acclaims at overseas film festivals, such as the FIPRESCI Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in addition to prizes at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival, the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Barcelona Asian Film Festival.

According to Kim Ji-suk of the Pusan International Film Festival, three Korean movies, including "Son, My Enemy" - "Cracked Eggs and Noodles" (2005) directed by Oh Sang-hoon, have been invited to the 15th Fukuoka International Film Festival in Japan, which will open on September 16.
