Director Kang Woo-seok chose historical "I Am King of Chosun" as his next work.
Productions Cinema Service revealed on the 14th, "This is his 19th piece of work and first historical".
"I Am King of Chosun" is a fiction historical about the 15th kind and unlucky monarch Gwanghegun and his secrets.
This drama will portray the irony of that generation and secrets hidden in the mingled destinies of the most dramatic king Gwanghaegun and low class Haseon who looked the same as him. Writer Hwang Jo-yoon from movie "Old Boy" has the scripts.
Director Kang said, "It is a common set up in a movie just like "I Am King of Chosun" to have an opponent that looks the same, but I discovered another attraction when Gwanghaegun, who is still a character of issue and questions, meets destiny".
He continued, "I decided on this project as it seemed like a good scenario to quench the thirst of politic comedy. Viewers should be able to identify with the emotions and enjoy the story of 'the king and the commoner that look alike'.
"I Am King of Chosun" will finalize casting and crank in this June or July.
