Director Park Chan-wook's 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' is receiving love calls from Japan one after another before the movie is released.

However, the director stated his standpoint that the movie will receive assessment grandly in the Berlin International Film Festival to be held in Germany on Feb, next year.

An official of CJ Entertainment responsible for the movie's distribution, said, "Japanese side has presented a huge amount of several million dollar on the news that drama 'Daejanggeum's Lee Yeong-ae plus Canne Film Festival's hero director Park Chan-wook performs.

Yet, this official said that to receive an assessment as it should, the distribution firm is scheduled to present it to the film market of the Berlin International Film Festival to be held on Feb. 10, next year.

According to this official, not only Japan, but also Europe are showing great interest in movie 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' in that the movie is a finale of director Park Chan-wook's revenge movies following 'Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance' and 'Oldboy'.

This movie is scheduled to be released in June, next year. CJ side expected that 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' would be able to pass over a record of 'Oldboy', considering that by far heaps of people express interest in the movie more than director Park's previous vengeance movies.

This will be the final film in Park's thematically linked trilogy of revenge flicks that started with Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and continued with the massively acclaimed Oldboy.
