East Asian TV writers to meet in Busan

About 70 renowned TV drama writers from East Asian countries including Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan will gather in Busan on June 14 for a three-day conference.

The "East Asian Broadcast Writers' Conference" has been organized by the Korea Foundation for Asian Culture Exchange and the Korean Radio and TV Writers Association to accelerate communications between East Asian TV writers.

Under the title "The similarity of Asian cultures seen through TV dramas", renowned Korean TV writers including Kim Woon-kyeong, Noh Hee-kyeong and Park Jeong-ran will hold active discussions with well-known drama authors from neighboring countries.

During the conference, the writers will first watch well-known dramas including Korea's "It will become a Pop-song (Yuhaenggaga doeri)", China's "A Time to Love (Gyeonghwayeonwun)" and Japan's "Refined Lady (Yamato Nadeshiko)", and share opinions on the similarities and differences of their dramas.

"Yamato Nadeshiko" is already well-known among Korean viewers as the original version of 2003 SBS drama "Yojosuknyeo" starring Korea's top actress Kim Hee-sun.
