Educational Cartoons and Animated Films on the Rise

Habitual gambling and difficult economic theories will be presented in cartoon and animated form to help the public better understand these issues.

The Korea Racing Authority's (KRA, Chairman Kim Gwang-won) UCan Center published The Way He Lives His Life (The Truth about Gambling Told by Lee Hyeon-se), a habitual gambling prevention booklet, in collaboration with the Korea Cartoonists Association (Chairman Kim Jong-cheol) and cartoonist Lee Hyeon-se.

As a sequel to last year's Surviving in the World of Gambling, this characteristic work by Lee is designed to boost the public's understanding about the "Symptoms of Habitual Gambling and Addiction Treatment". It highlights the psychological and emotional suffering of gamblers and their families, gives tips for controlling gambling habits, and lists institutions specializing in gambling addiction treatment.

Economic theory will be reborn as an easy-to-understand and fun animation. Let's Go MBA~!, a China-Korea collaboration, will air on SBS every Wednesday and Thursday starting on October 21.

Jointly produced by SBS, DPS, Gangwon Information & Multimedia Corporation, and Carloon of China, Let's Go MBA~! uses both action and comedy to show how its main character and his friends learn economic theories through its 52-episode run.

The animation takes place in Sem City. A company called Acheron grows ever more powerful until it monopolizes and distorts the market system in this once-peaceful town. While watching the story of the childhood, friendships, and fantastic adventures of the main character in his stand against Acheron unfolds viewers learn a number of economic theories. A wide range of educational board game products, e-learning materials, cartoons, and related character merchandizing are scheduled to come in with the series.
