Though not of Indiana Jones caliber, these three self-proclaimed super sleuths somehow manage to unravel layers upon layers of mysteries through unconventional, often lowbrow tactics. Despite having suffered in ratings against the recent fever of Korean periodic dramas, the drama nonetheless received rave reviews from loyal viewers and critics alike for its ingenious plot, clever dialogue, and amazing editing techniques that make many scenes seem like pages straight out of a comic strip. Drifting along in a sea of eccentricity and absolute hilarity, Evasive Inquiry Agency gently evokes long forgotten memories of our own childhood adventures.

Taekwondo instructor Moo Yeol (Lee Min Ki), comic book store owner Yong Soo (Ryu Seung Soo), and tarot card reader Hee Kyung (Ye Ji Won) hold shop in a ramshackle complex with few remaining tenants. One day while mindlessly killing time in an empty office once used by a detective agency, Moo Yeol and Yong Soo are mistaken for private investigators by a wealthy housewife who asks them to find her missing Persian cat. Meanwhile, the building owner complains of a strange crying sound coming from the building's basement. Scared out of her wits, Hee Kyung talks Moo Yeol and Yong Soo into investigating the matter. Soon the three super sleuths are on their way to solve the mystery. But what they discover in the basement blows their minds away - gold! Frantically tearing up the basement wall in search for more treasure, they stumble into yet another shocker - a skeleton. Somehow things don't seem to add up.

'무슨일이든 해드립니다'

경운궁(오늘날의 덕수궁) 근처의 다 쓰러져가는 5층짜리 상가건물. 이 건물에는 경영난에 시달리는 ‘호돌이 태권도장’사범 무열(이민기), 꿈도 희망도 가족도 없이 그날그날을 살아가는 만화가게 주인 용수(류승수), 신통력보다는 연기력으로 승부하는 타로마스터 희경(예지원)이 살고 있다. 죽어가는 상가이다보니, 빈 사무실도 많다. 언제부턴가 주인이 도망가버린 흥신소 사무실도 그 중 하나다. 어느 날 무열과 용수가 흥신소 사무실에서 부자동네의 사모님이 잃어버린 페르시안 고양이를 찾아달라고 의뢰받고, 얼떨결에 흥신소 직원이 되어 고양이를 찾아 헤매는 무열과 용수. 하지만 고양이 찾기가 쉽지만은 않다...

상가건물 지하실에서 애기 우는 소리가 들린다고, 상가주인이자 같은 건물에서 기원을 하는 할아버지(이정구)가 의뢰를 해온 것. 영매사 주제에 겁은 많은 희경이 용수와 무열을 꼬셔 반지하로 향한다. 지하실벽에서 발견된 페르시안 고양이, 지하실 벽이 무너진 공간에 페르시안 고양이와 새끼 세 마리, 그리고 나뭇잎 모양의 금덩어리 세 개... 금에 눈이 먼 세 사람이 정신없이 벽을 헤집는데 이번에 나온 건 백골이 된 시체...몇일 후 무열이 황금빌딩 옥상에 기절한 채 쓰러져 있는 초절정 미녀를 발견하는데...
