Everland Most Popular Tourist Attraction

Everland was the most visited tourist attraction in Korea last year with 6.97 million visitors, according to the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute on Wednesday.

This is the second straight year that the amusement park in Yongin, Gyeonnggi Province, was at the top of the list, but the sheer number of visitors dropped by six percent from the previous year.

The institute surveyed 1,714 tourist attractions across the country that are registered with it.

Gyeongbok Palace moved up three notches to second place with 6.02 million visitors. The visitor number to Korea's biggest ancient palace rose remarkably by 19 percent, as wearing handbook, or traditional Korean dress, to the palace has come into vogue among young people and foreign tourists.
