The Seoul District National Tax Service has been investigating Jang for the last six months since June. Tax authorities say the investigation ended in November last year and that Jang paid about 10 billion won in additional charges. Chairman Jang of Jang Keun-suk's agency was also investigated and paid a billion in charges. "H" is a company that agents between Hallyu stars and the Chinese region. The NTS, under instructions of the prosecutors, investigated several other celebrities that go through this company for work abroad.

The investigators say they caught whiff of chairman Jang using currency exchange as a method of secretly depositing profit money of more than 30 billion won from overseas in the celebrities' borrowed-name accounts. Investigations were requested to the NTS but they didn't press charges on chairman Jang as well. They ended the case with 'no right of arraignment'. Jang's company repeated that there was no one in charge available for comment.
