Fans support JYJ through bus ads

It takes more than gifts and fan letters to express your support and affection to stars these days. The fans of pop group JYJ have arranged special bus advertisements this time, following fans who bought newspaper ads or donated money to needy organizations under their favorite celebrity's name.

The advertisement, which will be put on the sides of buses, reads "We support your youth" and will be on display for a month in Seoul, Gwangju, Daejeon, Daegu and Busan.

The advertisement was arranged by fans and fan clubs with the goal to support JYJ and its activities.

"We hope this campaign will help support not only the fans and singers, but also those who create and consume popular culture", said a representative from one of the fan clubs.

The money for the advertisement was collected from Jan. 14 to 24. The total count is approximately 158 million won ($141,000) from 9,817 fans.

JYJ, consists of former members of top boy band TVXQ _ Kim Jae-joong, Micky Yoochun and Junsu _ and made its debut last year after the end of the original group's lineup.

The three members filed a lawsuit against their former agency SM Entertainment citing unfair contracts and distribution of earnings. The group released its album "The Beginning" and also held concert tours while the remaining two members of TVXQ _ U-Know and Kim Jae-joong_ continued their activities under the original name early this year.

이 광고는 자발적으로 이루어졌는데 이 광고를 위한 모금은 지난 14일부터 24일까지 진행되었고 국내외 팬들 1만여명이 참여해 약 1억 5,000여만원이 모였다.

버스광고는 서울 및 주요도시인 광주, 대전 대구 부산에서 총 120대의 버스를 통해 1개월간 노촐될 계획이다.

한편 JYJ팬들은 오는 27일부터 다음달 26일까지 버스광고를 진행한 후 2차 광고를 진행할 계획이다.
