Finance and Economy Minister Han Duck-soo has pledged 400 billion won to develop the domestic film industry.
Han on Wednesday defended the decision to halve the screen quota to 73 days a year from July based on the stronger competitiveness and higher quality of domestic movies.
He said the funds will go to building more theaters screening art films and expanding human resources to enhance competitiveness.
