Former Korean Pop Star Appears In Upcoming Hollywood Blockbuster

As one of the members of the successful Korean pop music group G.O.D., Joon Park (also known as Joon-hyung Park) became a star in his own right in his native Korea. Though the group has since parted ways, the individual members have gone on to pursue solo careers in music and film. Born in Seoul, Korea, Park was raised in California, USA, where he graduated from high school and attended college. After he left G.O.D., Park made his way to Hollywood to realize his dreams of being an actor.

Joon Park caught his first big break with a minor role in the 2008 US film Speed Racer, which also featured fellow Korean breakout star Ji-hoon Jung (better known by his international pop-music star alias, Rain). In April of 2009, Park will appear in the motion picture, Dragonball Evolution, an adaptation of the popular Japanese manga series, Dragonball . Playing the role of Yamcha, friend of main protagonist Goku, this will be Park's biggest Hollywood role to date. Park will be joined by two other notable Korean-Americans in the cast.

Playing the role of Chi Chi, the love interest of Goku, is American reality television star Jamie Chung. Chung first appeared in the public eye as one of seven cast members in the fourteenth season of the popular American reality television show, The Real World . Also appearing in Dragonball Evolution, will be Korean-American actor Randall Duk Kim. With a background in Shakespearian theatre, Kim has appeared in several Hollywood roles, including the Keymaker in the Matrix Reloaded and Dr. Crab in the motion picture adaptation of the novel, Memoirs of a Geisha. Kim will also appear in the upcoming Ninja Assassin, which will also feature Korean actors Ji-hoon Jung (Rain) and Rick Yune.
