Girls' Generation fascinates New Yorkers

Girls' Generation, one of the top girl group in Korea, has appeared at MTV, an American music television network based in New York City. This shows that "Hallyu" or "Korean Wave", meaning spreading of Korean culture around the world, has now taken over the most populous city there, which has already craze in Europe as well as in Asia.

The girls made their appearance on Monday at MTV News and MTV IGGY, a channel of MTV Networks, to promote their new song, "The Boys". They also had an interview. They had the schedule one day after having concert with other Korean popular singers in Madison Square Garden presented by SM Entertainment, one of the South Korea's biggest record labels.

The shot was taken in a MTV open studio located at Time Square in New York City. Their interview was aire live through a big screen there. Fans from different areas of the country packed in the place to see the members, proving that they are sure to be world-renowned musicians.

As the Girls' Generation came on to the stage, the avid fans greeted them with hearty cheers, chanting the members' names, which drew its citizens' attention.

It was enough to create illusion that the street is just for the Girls' Generation as the fans marched with acclamation, while a teaser of "The boys", was being played in an electronic display at the square.

After the girls appeared in the MTV, they had a brief meeting with their fans in "BEST BUY Theater" in Broadway of the city to introduce their new album and answer the questions from their fans. The meeting also demonstrated how much they have gained popularity in the U.S. as almost 1,000 fans came to the theater.

"The Girls' Generation is now a World Star", "Korean wave would hit the Western countries?" and "Great! I'm proud of them" are a few of comments among Korean netizens.

Meanwhile, the Girls' Generation's appearance in the MTV can be seen in SM channel in YouTube, a video sharing website (http://www.youtube.com/smtown) and their facebook (http://www.facebook.com/girlsgeneration).
