Girls' Generation was picked as the nations' favorite female act in a survey conducted by Leespiar Marketing Research Company for the first half of 2012.
The girl band won 26.9 percent of votes while IU (15.3 percent) came in at second and Wonder Girls at third (7.3 percent). The results came out on April 18 and the survey was taken by 1,329 respondents.
In the male segment, Big Bang won first place (18.1 percent) with singer Lee Seung-gi coming in at second (11.3 percent) and 2PM (8.1 percent) at third. Meanwhile, Won Bin was the favorite male actor and Kim Tae-hee was the most preferred actress despite the fact that both stars have been relatively inactive as of late.
