A global literary award to honor the spirit of the late novelist Park Kyung-ni has been founded.
The Toji Foundation of Culture, which is headed by Park's daughter, held a ceremony on Monday at the Seoul Press Center to announce the establishment of the Park Kyung-ni Prize.
The foundation said that this year it will give out the award to a Korean writer and Korean literary work. But next year it plans to present the award to writers and literary works from all around the world.
Park, who died in 2008, is best known for her epic series, "Toji" adapted into the drama "Toji, the Land"
