Korean golfer Choi Kyung-ju, aka KJ Choi, will appear in a Hollywood movie. Choi's management agency IMG Tuesday said Choi will appear as a legendary golfer in "Seven Days in Utopia" starring Robert Duvall and Lucas Black.
The film is based on David Cook's novel, "Golf's Sacred Journey: Seven Days at the Links of Utopia", and is the story about a golf prodigy. Choi will play the role of Oh Tae-kwon, a world-class golfer from Korea who is locked in a fierce battle with the main character for the champion title. He will appear for some 20 minutes towards the end of the movie.
Choi, who will compete in the World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational from Thursday, filmed his part for five days from last Thursday. "I decided to do the movie because I had read the book and felt it could deliver a powerful message to many people", he said. "It was a new experience and challenge for me". The film will be released in the U.S. in June next year.
