"GongMyoung" to Stage Concert of Traditional, Modern Music by Creative Instruments

"GongMyoung", a global performing musical group, will stage its a unique concert of traditional music under the title of "With Sea" at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul's Jangchung-dong on May 12-13, 2012.

The concert will be held at 2 p.m. on the days on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the musical group's foundation.

The concert will be sponsored by three organizations - Arts Council Kora, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the National Theater of Korea.

The concert will last about five hours. It will be an occasion to see the full aspects of the GongMyong and experience first hand the newly presenting sounds.

"GongMyoung" was recognized for creating a fresh sensation through new and diverse sounds based on Korean traditional music.

Since it's first stage in 1997, GongMyoung has actively been performing in such generes as the musical, plays, dances, and movies both at home and abroad.

The group not only focuses on traditional Korean instruments but also on other types of experimental instruments to create a unique sound of "GongMyoung".

"GongMyoung" in Korean language means resonation in English.

GongMyoung is widely considered as Korean exquisite musical music groups that focuses on folk music.

The members of the group crafts their own instruments out of bamboo to create a mixture of wind and percussion sound.

Thy say that these instruments are producing a great ensemble, which makes their performances really delightful ones.

"GongMyoung" has been introduced to the text books for the local elementary school.

Recently the Korean Culture and Arts Centers Association has chosen GongMyoung as the model performing arts group for its contribution to the low-income or needy people.
