Hallyu Fans in France Like Big Bang and 2NE1

Research says that the local fans in France like Big Bang and 2NE1 the most among K-Pop singing groups, and 98.2 percent of the respondents revealed that they would like to visit Korea.

The Paris branch of the Korea Tourism Organization Paris conducted an online survey with 3,775 Hallyu fans. According to the result of the survey released on April 3, Big Bang and 2NE1 were selected as their favorite male and female singing groups by obtaining 49.9 and 64.8 percent of the votes, respectively. Male singing groups Super Junior (45%), SHINee (35.5%), and Beast (33.8%) and female singing groups Girls' Generation (45.4%), Miss A (31.5%), and f(x) (29.4%) followed the two groups.

For the question asking which K-Pop star they would most like to travel with and spend Christmas with together, Super Junior obtained the most votes, and Big Bang, SHINee, 2NE1, 2PM, and Girls' Generation followed. Most Hallyu fans have come to know Korean culture through K-Pop and Korean dramas.

Asked about the Hallyu content that they had experienced before, K-Pop (100%) and dramas (91.6%) obtained the most votes. On the other hand, movies (69.6%), Korean traditional culture (50.3%), and animation (15.8%) obtained a relatively fewer number of votes. But the respondents revealed their huge interest in the Korean language (91.5%), Korean food (90.9%), and Korean traditional Culture (83.0%), which hinted at the possibility of Korean culture spreading beginning with K-Pop and dramas. In addition, 98.2 percent of the respondents said that they would visit Korea for sightseeing (96.6%) and watching K-Pop concerts (80%).
