Jin-hee has, as usual, gotten herself into a big unnecessary mess by overreacting. What makes the opening of this episode different, though, is that she actually faces meaningful consequences. Of course her sister makes a clean getaway. And of course the people who actually run the club have no interest in helping Jin-hee track her down. That's not even getting into the general embarassment factor. Yes, Jin-hee has good reason to be mad- that doesn't excuse her failure to act diplomatically though.

I'm not sure how but this mess of an event goes a long way to helping rehabilitate the characterization. We finally get a scene that makes the theory of Jin-hee and Chang-min being potential romantic partners a plausible one. I don't mean from our perspective, but from that of the other characters. The look on their faces as Jin-hee and Chang-min demonstrate suspiciously casual physical intimacy is great. Better than any script-driven joke certainly

Like that one we get that involves lot of farts. As much as I dislike attacking a staple of low comedy, come on, farts aren't that loud. Especially when they're coming from far away. What's particularly annoying about the scene is that it should have accomplished something plotwise, given the way the ruse ends up going. But all we really get is a whole lot of nothing about characters who are barely even relevant.

Still, that's better than moving things backwards at least. I guess the romance subplot between Min-gi and Ah-reum is a thing we're actually doing now? Works for me- there's not much else for them to do anyway. And while the developments are a bit simplistic, cute is cute. If any drama needs levity right now it's "Emergency Couple". I'm still not ready to accept that Jin-hee is actually going to learn from her mistakes instead of just making more obviously terrible ones.

But at least we're moving in the right direction. The patients we see this time are the exact kind of casual doctor mode people I've been waiting for this whole time. There's a lot more bedside manner, a lot fewer extreme dramatics, and overall an episode that just does a good job taking a step back and relaxing. I mean, there is some goofiness involved what with the appearance of the baby and all. But in context, I can accept that. And it really does explain a lot if you think about it.
