Industry insiders eagerly wonder: Would the TV progra's translation to the OSMU format succeed?
KBS's popular program Imagination Plus is now a book and a mobile game.
Consisting of the program's popular quizzes such as "Elders' Words" or "Teenagers' Words", the book lets the reader solve quizzes and read literary works where these words are used.
It is rare that a TV program is translated into a One-Source Multi-Use (OSMU) media format, such as a book or a game, and many are watching if this unique case becomes successful. "We worked hard to deliver the characteristics of the original source, Imagination Plus, as faithfully as possible", said an official from KBS. "In the design and execution, we did our best to make sure that the reader can still feel the original TV program's educational and entertainment aspects".
Meanwhile, coinciding with the release of the book of Imagination Plus is mobile game developer GOS Cube promotional tie-up with national daily newspaper Dong-A Ilbo. The promotion offers a game coupon for the book's mobile game version, Mobile Imagination Plus to those who purchase the Imagination Plus book. To participate in the game, users only need to write the serial number of the coupon in the comment box on the game.
