Indie Film "Old Partner" Proves Huge Hit

The independent documentary "Old Partner" has drawn more than 600,000 viewer since its release on January 15th.

According to the Korean Film Council, the domestic production attracted more than 110,000 people on Saturday alone, pushing the overall figure to more than 600,000.

The movie cost just 200 million won to make and had initially opened at seven theaters. "Old Partner" is now showing at 100 theaters propelled by applause both from critics and movie fans.

The film depicts the friendship between a 40-year-old cow and an 80-year-old farmer in dealing with the themes of the meaning of life and farewell.
