[Ishani's Picks] "Stockstruck" Is The Unexpected Comedy You'll End Up Falling In Love With

The range of K-Dramas keeps expanding with its popularity, and we could not be more excited about the brand new dramas coming our way. One such show that has recently stolen hearts is "Stockstruck".

Starring Han Ji-eun, Hong Jong-hyun, Kim Sun-young, Jung Moon-sung, Jang Gwang and more, "Stockstruck" tells the story of 5 individuals from different walks of life who come together with the common dream of gaining wealth through stocks. In the process, they learn more about themselves and each other, developing meaningful bonds of love and friendship.

Han Ji-eun plays Yoo  Mi-seo, a young woman who is as hard-working as she is charming. She fantasizes about becoming rich and owning her dream house with her boyfriend, who she is set to marry soon. To make that dream come true, she invests in stocks. However, after a bried period of success, she loses a large sum of money, breaking up her relationship and leaving her empty-handed.

Hong Jong-hyun plays Choi  Seon-woo, a mysterious man who seems to have a deep-set trauma related to stocks. However, when he gets involved with Yoo  Mi-seo by chance, he is forced to face his trauma. He works at a convenience store but drives a foreign car.

Jung Moon-sung plays Kang  San, a middle-aged man who has adopted the 'freeter' lifestyle. His motto used to be "YOLO", but after his mother passed away, he decided to live a good life and invest in stocks.

Kim Sun-young plays Jeong  Haeng-ja, an older woman in her fifties who came upon a fortune after cashing out the stocks her late husband had bought. She runs a pork feet restaurant but the sudden change in her finances encouraged her to live a free life. As such, she decides to enter the stock market.

Finally, Jang Gwang plays Kim  Jin-bae, a retired English teacher who missed out on buying profitable stocks at a young age. Now, when his peers are rich from stock returns, he decides to try his luck at the game.

These colorful characters meet at a strange stock market class led by an 11-year-old boy. With 12 episodes, all of which end in little lessons in stocks that are as educational as they are entertaining, "Stockstruck" will keep you hooked with its comic storyline and relatable scenarios.
