Singer IU has made about 10 billion won ($8.7 million) to date, according to an article by the JoongAng Ilbo.
The paper estimated that the teenage singer made 6 billion won on record sales in the beginning of last year. With the addition of commercials, dramas and other miscellaneous appearances, the sum rose to 10 billion won.
However, when Loen Entertainment was asked about the singer's earnings, it said that although it wouldn't reveal just how much she made, that "it wasn't as much as 10 billion won". The company added that only a few people at the company are privy to that kind of information
Meanwhile, the young star said on TV recently that her mother managed all her money matters.
"She tells me what all my expenses are. She says that I have to know because it's my money". IU said.
