Some 300 Asian fans of actor Jang Dong-gun have visited Busan recently to appear as extras in Jang's upcoming movie "Typhoon" and to attend a fan meeting.
The Korean, Japanese and Chinese fans were cast as extras for a chase scene that Jang and his fellow actor Lee Jeong-jae filmed at a yachting competition venue in Busan.
A PR agent for the movie said the scene was filmed successfully thanks to efforts by Jang's management agency, his Japanese planning agency and the movie's production company.
The actor's fans who participated in the filming said they applied for the roles of extras in hopes of appearing in the movie in addition to seeing their favorite actor in person.
