Jeon Do-yeon, voted as the "Best actress of the year" by female directors

Actress Jeon Do-yeon was voted as the "Best actress of the year" by the female directors. Also the president of Home Pictures, Lee Yoo-jin, was awarded as the "Best movie-person of the year", who produced movies such as the "Voice of a Murderer" and the "Happiness". The award ceremony is a part of 2007 Female Directors Festival on 17th December, held at the Art hall of Seoul Sokyuk-dong Art Centre, organised by the Association of Female Directors.

In particular, Jeon Do-yeon's achievement of winning the Cannes best actress prize this year for her latest film "Secret Sunshine" was recognised. The festival was hosted by the actress Jo Eun-ji and the elder-actress Hwang Jeong-seon was awarded for her distinguishable service in film industry. She began her acting career in 1940, when she entered Dongyang Acting Company's exclusive play troupe "Chungchundan". Ever since, she appeared in hundreds of films and dramas for more than 60 years.

The "Best director/screen play of the year" was given to Director Kim Mi-jung, who produced the film "Shadows in the Palace". Along with the short film, "Battlefield Calling", "Shadows in the Palace" was voted as the "Best breakthrough film of the year". Also, Director Kong Mi-yeon of "Battlefield Calling" won the "Best short film/documentary of the year".

Moreover, the "Advertising marketing achievement award" was given to the advertising company "All-that-cinema", which advertised the animation "Robot Taekwon 5"; and the "Best producer of the year" was given to Producer No Eun-hee of "200 Pounds Beauty". The "Award for Technical Achievement" was given to the costume designer, Jo Sun-kyung of the films such as "200 Pounds Beauty" and "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK".

The 2007 Female Directors Festival starts with screening of "Shadows in the Palace" and "Battlefield calling" at noon, followed by a forum titled "Stories and ideas, Adds colour to films: Trends in films and free-productions" then the award ceremony at 7:30pm.
