Jeon Ji-hyeon next project will be director Jeong Yoon-cheol's film Syoopeomaenieotteon Sanai (English translation: "A Man Who Was Superman"). Jeon will play an opportunistic documentary maker who decides to make a documentary about a man who believes that he is superhero. Hwang Jeong-min will portray the titular role.
Jeon motivated her choice by praising the scenario and the opportunity to act alongside HWANG. HWANG is at the moment one of Korea's most sought after actors because of his acclaimed acting in "You are my Sunshine" and "Black House".
Jeon finished filming "Blood: The Last Vampire", her English language film debut. She became a star through the hit comedy "My Sassy Girl" . With Syoopeomaenieotteon Sanai she seems to take a new direction by playing a darker and unsympathetic character. Most films starring Jeon have their remake rights sold to Hollywood studios. A remake of "Il Mare" has been remade by Hollywood with the title "The Lake House" and a remake of "My Sassy Girl" is under production.
Director Jeong helmed the feel-good blockbuster "Marathon". The CJ Entertainment production Syoopeomaenieotteon Sanai will start filming this fall and is scheduled for a release in 2008. The story is based on a short story titled Eoneu Nal Gabjagi (one day suddenly).
