MBC's hugely popular Jumong is the first of a wave of Korean historical dramas dealing with the Goguryeo Dynasty (approximately 37 BC-AD 668). Written by veteran Choi Wan Gyu (Hur Jun, Sang Do, and All In) and Jung Hyung Soo (Damo), Jumong is one of Korea's most impressive and popular historical dramas. It dominated television screens during its broadcast, attracting viewership ratings of over 40% in Korea.

Jumong is the name of the legendary founder of Goguryeo, King Dongmyeongseong. The story starts with the conflict between Gojoseon, an ancient Korean kingdom, and Han Chinese forces, eventually leading to a fragmented Korean Peninsula. Hero-in-the-making Jumong (Song Il Kook, Emperor of the Sea) is born in this time of chaos and struggle in the little independent state of Buyeo. He quickly finds himself the most unlikely of princes and the victim of a rivalry with his brother Dae So (Kim Seung Soo, A Million Roses). He is forced to choose between the boyish charm of young merchant So Seo No (Han Hye Jin; Be Strong, Geum Soon!) and the innocent smile of Bu Yeong (Im So Young), a servant he's known for years. Through dangerous trials and painful lessons of the heart, Jumong must rise to the occasion to unite the land and bring peace to his people.

I really love this movie If you love song IL Kook in emperor of the sea as the villian you will .diffinately love him as a hero lots of action from the beginning to the end it was extremely sad for me at the end because his wife left which is understandably because his first wife came back with his son when everyone thought that they were dead. this is a must buy must see movie if you love action this is the one to watch and buy

This has to be the best korean drama i have ever seen. This kingdom days style of drama is comparable or even better than some of the chinese dramas i have seen. I really enjoy watching the characters grow into who they are. How they start and come to be. To enjoy how or possibly korean history or kingdoms once lived. even the special features is awesome. it comes with english subtitles too!!! if you love the ancient days. this is a must watch!

First of all, Jumong volume 4 has been shipped out ahead of schedule in August. You don't need to wait until September 17 to place your order. I just finished watching Volume 4, and I'm sad that the end has finally come to a conclusion to a great series. Don't forget to watch the Special 1 hour interview with the main cast with English subtitle. It was hilarious! I wish a lot of Special come with English subtitle from other Korean drama series. Thank you Jumong and crew for providing myself and family with great entertainment.
