Kangta to perform with symphony orchestra in Beijing

Hallyu star Kangta, 26, has drawn the spotlight recently by announcing his plan to perform with a symphony orchestra at a benefit concert to be held in Beijing, China. The concert aims to raise tuition fees for underprivileged children in China's remote areas.

Kang said he will stage an impressive large-scale performance, which he is thoroughly planning now, and will donate the entire amount of the proceeds to the needy. The concert will feature a 25-member symphony orchestra, which will maximize the artistic value of Kang's ballads and R&B songs through its magnificent accompaniment and underscore the purpose of the concert.

Some 150 technical staff will participate in the concert; of those, more than 80 will hail from Seoul. They are currently working hard on choreography, stage lighting, acoustics, filming, and costumes.

Members of Kang's Chinese fan club have already decorated the stage with approximately 10,000 white balloons, which symbolize the singer's favorite color and his fans' wish for his well-being and continued commitment to good causes in the future.

Kang's concert has drawn significant attention as he is the first hallyu star to hold a large-scale benefit event in China. Another noteworthy feature of his concert are the high-profile guest performers, such as former H.O.T. member Tony An as well as singers Shin Hye-sung and Lee Jee-hoon, and the female music group Chunsangjihee.

The concert will take place at the Capital Stadium in Beijing on Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
