The state-run television network KBS has opened a Web site for promoting and selling their original dramas and other programs abroad.
The KBS Global Marketing Site (contents.kbs.co.kr) began its operations Tuesday, offering services in English, Chinese and Japanese to potential international buyers, as well as fans of Korean drama abroad.
It is the first time for an Asian broadcasting company to create such a Web site to directly market and sell their programs abroad, according to the site's organizers.
The site includes information on various programs created by KBS, including dramas, documentaries, music and variety shows and animations. Some of the programs, including many of the more popular dramas, will offer video samples of recent episodes through a Video-on-Demand (VOD) service, as well as summaries of plots in the three languages.
The site will also provide the latest news and notices concerning the dramas and their stars, and contact information for possible purchases.
