The six-part documentary series, which aired in the country early last year, won the prestigious Peabody award for its fourth episode titled "Connecting the Kitchens of Asia".

Last year, its first episode titled "The Birth of a Brilliant Creation" had also won the prize for best TV documentary at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).

An official at KBS explained that producers Lee Wook-jung and Yeom Ji-seon attended the awards ceremony held Monday in New York City.

The winning episode, which aired on February 21, told of the historic journey of Asian noodles and how it has influenced people's appetite around the world.

The producers also linked noodles to the wisdom of Asians, showing viewers how it has become a cultural symbol for Asia, served as a key in cultural exchange between the East and the West and connected kitchens in various regions and environments of Asia.

Founded in 1940, the George Foster Peabody Awards (Peabody Awards) selects winners of radio and television programs in a total of seven categories including broadcast journalism, documentary filmmaking, educational, entertainment and children's programming.
