Kim Hye-ja, "Partial script dramas don't need talent, just pretty actresses"

National actress Kim Hye-ja pointed out something about TV drama and their partial scripts.

She appeared on the MBC Radio 50th Anniversary Special "MBC and Me" and said, "Partial scripts must be fixed".

"A drama with partial scripts doesn't need actors and actresses with good talent. They just need a pretty or handsome face. Even older roles need just old people".

About writer Kim Su-hyun, who she has worked with for a long time, she said, "When we finish shooting on one day, she has the next days script ready right away. We can't even make an excuse that we had no time to practice".

When she was asked if she feels like she missed out on anything because of her fixed "country woman" image in "The Country Diary" which was aired on MBC for 22 years, she said, "That program was something that made me realize how important ordinary things in life matter. If it wasn't for that program, I wouldn't have known".

Also, when she was asked why she was obsessed with only dramas for the 30-something years since her debut, she said, "More than loyalty for the broadcasting stations, you can't see Kim Hye-ja unless you're on channel 11. I wanted to keep that pride".

Finally, about MBC FM "Family Music Room", which she led for a while in the 80s, she laughed and said, "I had come right after veteran DJ Kim Se-won so I felt pressured. I was full of mistakes".

Kim Hye-ja's honest talk about her life aired on October 27th at 9:35PM on MBC Radio (FM 95.9MHz).
