Popular singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong is now the newest addition to the UN ambassador family.

On March 9th at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul, Kim was appointed an honorary ambassador for the UN's Korean Campaign on Contributions to Social Welfare. He will seek to serve his title by spreading hope throughout the Korean society.

He was inaugurated in the presence of Asian Campaign representative Kim Jung-hoon and the head of the main Saenuri Party (New Frontier Party), Park Geun-hye. Park not only an expected presidential hopeful for this year's elections, but is also the aunt off another k-pop singer, Eun Ji-won.
