The commissioners were selected in an intensive open registration process held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and were officially inducted to two-year terms in a ceremony held at KOFIC on June 30.

The new commissioners, in alphabetical order, are: CHO Hye-jung (f), film professor at the University of Suwon; JUNG Su-wan (f), program director of the Jeonju International Film Festival and professor at Dongguk University; KIM Se-hoon (m), professor of animation at Sejong University; Lee Mi-yun (f), film director ("Bus, l'abri"); Min Byeong-cheon (m), film director ("Natural City"); Oh Jeong-wan (f), film producer ("A Bittersweet Life", "Night and Day"); PARK Kyung-pil (m), chair of the Media Investment Council; and SHIM Sang-min (m), professor of culture and communication studies at Sungshin Women's University.

Among the eight commissioners, SHIM Sang-min has been selected to serve as KOFIC's vice chairperson for the duration of his term.

The new commissioners' terms will expire on June 29, 2010.
