The Cultural Heritage Administration on Tuesday said that countries can apply for the world heritage list at least one year after their heritage sites are added to the tentative list.
The Dosan Seowon and Byeongsan Seowon were among the nine sites listed.
The administration said that the nine schools from the Joseon Dynasty, which are already designated as historic sites, are well preserved and managed compared to other 628 institutions from that era.
