Korean Animation to be broadcast on the U.S. TV network

Noonbory and the Super 7 of Daewon Media to be broadcast both in the U.S. and Korea
Overseas debut, the achievement made possible thanks to 'Star Project 2006'

Korean animation is scheduled to air on a TV network of the U.S., the home of animations, preparing to expand its presence globally.
Selected as the recipient of 'Star Project 2006', Daewon Media's 'Noonbory and the Super 7 (Noonbory)' is set to be broadcast in children's program on CBS of the U.S. during prime time, starting from Sept. 19.
'Noonbory' is going to be broadcast during 7 to 10 a.m. on every Saturday, a time slot for programs for children. Accordingly, 'Noonbory' competes with popular 'Strawberry Shortcakes' and 'Carebear' both of which are on air.
In Korea, 'Noonbory' will debut on EBS, 9 a.m. every Thursday and Friday, starting from Aug. 27th. Following this, it will be air on animation cable TV. 'Champ' and satellite TV 'Anione (Skylife Channel)' on Jan.1 2010.
As the first locally produced animation to be broadcast on TV networks in Korea and the U.S. at the same time, 'Noonbory' became the 4th animation which will be on air in the U.S., following 'Cubix', 'Iron Kid', and 'Magi Nation'.
Selected as the recipient of 'Star Project' of 2006(currently known as Global Animation Project), it is a great achievement given that it will be on air both in Korea and the U.S. at the same time. The 'Star Project' was designed by KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency) to find local animation which is in the stage of planning and offer support for production.
As part of efforts to create a globally successful model through implementation of overseas joint production project, the production of 'Noonbory' was become possible thanks to proposal from a global enterprise of Canada, Cookie Jar Entertainment.
Since its inception in 2002 19.5 billion won has been invested to 38 works for the project until last year. And the recipients of the project are as follows: 'Pucca (2003)', 'Pororo and Friends (2004)', 'Dibo, the Gift Dragon (2005)', 'Rocket Boy & Toro (2006)', and 'Ava Teo Riko (2007)'.
"It takes 3~4 years for one animation to be produced", said Kim Jin-gyu, general director of Strategy & Planning Team at KOCCA, "we will provide systemic and consistent assistance to promote local animations overseas through global marketing and overseas joint project".

Targeting preschoolers, the 3D CG animation series 'Noonbory and the Super 7' follows adventures that hero Noonbory and 7 Borys take on a fantastic island called 'Toobaland' where they fight against silly villains. And it is educational given that the 7 Super Borys help children to understand the world that surrounds them with their super 5 senses of smell, sound, and sight, comparable to those of humans.
