Another science fiction fantasy animated film has attracted movie viewers' attention as the year comes to an end. This time it is the science fiction thriller Aeon Flux set in the year 2415. A disease has just wiped out the majority of the world's population except one protected city-state, Bregna. Aeon Flux, the top underground operative, must wage a war with a totalitarian regime, which appears to govern a perfect state. The plot thickens as Aeon is sent on a mission to kill a government leader and uncovers a world of secrets.
Aeon Flux gained a significant attention even during the production process because of its popularity on MTV as an animated series. What most viewers did not know is that the producer of this sophisticated character, Aeon Flux, is a Korean American animator named Peter Jung. He has transcended boundaries in animation, attracting attention from Disney and Japanese animation movie productions.
Jung's role as a creator, producer, and animator fully manifested his remarkable imagination skill and the production of Aeon Flux has gained tremendous popularity since 1995. Even after producing Aeon Flux, Jung also created other successful movies such as The Animatrix and The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury. Jung has established himself as a prominent role as a leading animator in the U.S.
Currently, the animation is one of the outstanding industries in Korea and its influence is growing immensely in the U.S. Koreans can be seen in all aspects of animation from operating as subcontractors to producing and creating animations. For example, story artists such as Peter Son were involved in the production of Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. Character designer, Sang Jin Kim, worked as a Walt Disney associate in producing Chicken Little and Rapunzel. Additionally, Anthony Chun acted as a director for Warner Brother to produce The Batman animation.
