Korean Ballet Prodigy Claims 2nd Place at Lausanne Competition

Ballet prodigy Park Hanna won second prize at the Prix de Lausanne international ballet competition in the Swiss city on Saturday.

The dance competition is regarded as one of the five most prestigious in the world, alongside those in Bulgaria's Varna, Paris, Moscow and the U.S.

Park, 15, is the youngest winner of the competition this year. She currently attends the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts and plans to enter Sunhwa Arts High School.

Retired world-famous ballerina Kang Sue-Jin Won the competition in 1985 when she was 18.
