Korean-Chinese TV Drama Featuring Beijing University to be Produced

Star & Co. and Siesta Project & Co. will produce a Korean-Chinese television drama set against the backdrop of Beijing University, the alma mater of China's elite. The two companies forged a partnership with China's Munryun Publishing Co. on April 27 and announced their joint project on May 4.

The title of the joint drama, "Campus" (校園), refers to Beijing University, which is the main subject of the drama. Production will be overseen by producer Park Hee-gon from Star & Co.'s Drama and Movie Production Division, and the script will be written by Beijing University graduate Seo Ye-na. "Beijing University's campus is a campus not only of Chinese students but of students from all over the world. All Chinese people are very concerned and curious about this university's campus life and its students", said Seo Ye-na.

Munryun Publishing has produced such dramas as "Legend of the Condor Heroes" by the famous Chinese writer Kim Yong and "Eighteen Springs" by Jang Ae-ryung, and is currently producing a movie based on Kim Yong's "Seven Swords" (七劍) in cooperation with director Hark Tsui.
