Korean Film Mag Goes to Japan

Local weekly film magazine Film 2.0 began publishing a Japanese edition on Sunday.

The magazine announced it sold its licensing rights to Diamond Publishing of Japan to make the edition available throughout Japan for the next two years.

At least half of the magazine will be translations of articles from the Korean edition.

"There have been Japanese fashion magazines that have sold their licenses to Korean companies, but this is the first time for a Korean magazine to be receiving licensing fees from Japan", Kim Kwang-chul, editor of Film 2.0 said. "The Japanese edition will have information not only about `hallyu (Korean wave)' stars but also wide-ranging information about Korean cinema".

The inaugural Japanese edition, which went on sale yesterday, contained articles about Lee Byung-hun, Choi Min-sik, Ryoo Seung-bum, kwon Sang-woo and Jang Dong-gun.
