Korean Films Honored at Asia-Pacific Screen Awards

Korean western blockbuster "The Good, the Bad, the Weird" won the achievement in cinematography award at the 2nd Asia-Pacific Screen Awards held in Australia on Tuesday. However, Kim Yun-seok, who starred as a tenacious ex-cop and pimp in highly acclaimed thriller "The Chaser", failed to garner the best actor award. This year's best actor award went to Iran's Reza Naji for his role in "The Song of the Sparrows".

Korea's feature documentary "63 Years On" produced by Kim Dong-won and Lee Seung-gu also won the best documentary feature film award. The documentary deals with Korean women forced into sexual slavery by Japanese military during World War II.

Last year director Lee Chang-dong and actress Jeon Do-yeon had won the awards for achievement in directing and best performance by an actress for their work in "Secret Sunshine".
