One overly dramatic ends, then another one begins, and just as quickly ends. I doubt any of these plot points are gone forever, but the rapidity with which these characters depart really emphasizes how "Family Outing" utilizes the revolving door style of storytelling. While this can work for a sitcom, and particularly for jokes, in the context of criminal domestic behavior the effect is rather poor. I mostly just feel awkward watching these people bumble through awful emotional turmoil...More

In a word, this episode is perfunctory. "Doctor Frost" is setting up the finale, and so is deliberately putting all the various long-term fragments of the previous episodes into proper order. The woman from the last cliffhanger ends up not being a plot point except to the extent of motive. Remember the episode about false memories, the one where the true culprit got away? That's what's really going on here- psychoanalysis of a person we can't actually see just yet because it would ruin the surprise. Even if you've probably already guessed who it is...More
