There is something incredibly romantic about building and designing a home. Perhaps it is that it requires two, rather distinct, forces working together to produce something both are happy with. Whether it's the outside architecture and structure of a house, or the warmth and familiarity of its interior, the idea of a home emerging from seemingly nothing is worth the sleepless nights it took to dream.
The first home my family had in South Africa was this dream for me. It was grand and spacious, and every care was taken so that it would cater to all of our families needs. It had bedrooms for all, an expansive playroom, a cottage for granny, even a swimming pool and a tennis court next to the rabbit cages outside. Live was good, and it felt like it had always been designed to be so,...More

Korean Melodrama - "Bad Man" 2010/12/04, Source, "Bad Man"' is a melodrama about a modern-day man's hidden desires and his revenge on his father's family. There are many twists in the story so that it draws audiences' attention. However, contrarily, because of the many twists, the audience can easily get confused. This Korean melodrama soap opera was issued before it was aired, because it made a contract with NHK (Japanese broadcast) ahead of time. Actor Lee Jeong-jin's Movie Picks 2010/11/18, Source, Lee Jeong-jin [10Asia]
"I am actor Lee Jeong-jin and I'm still best-known for 2004 film 'Once Upon A Time In Highschool'," said the actor at the press conference for his new film "Troubleshooter" that premiered in September. It is not that he did not star in other films during the past six years. In film "Mapado" (2005) he evoked laughter by appearing in embarrassing 'mompe' pants (loose-fitting attire usually worn by old woman) and practically betraying his former career as a model and in MBC drama "9 End 2 Outs" (2007)" he offered his viewers with a different form of fun by playing a character full of twists called Byun Hyung-tae who looks like a perfectly charming guy only on the surface. And although he acted like a loser in the drama, writing down all the misdeeds his girlfriend makes and even fighting with her physically if necessary, he was still able to win women's hearts by being there when his girlfriend needed him the most. Nonetheless, it is the 2004 film "Once Upon A Time In Highschool" that stands as the most important character to refer to when describing actor Lee. Nothing could stop his character, the charismatic Woo-sik, who could scare off his opponents with just a few words. And he was the same when he had to leave school after losing in a fight against his rival or falling in love, knowing no hesitation. Just like Eun-joo (Han Ga-in) had chosen Woo-sik over the gentle, exemplary student Hyun-soo (kwon Sang-woo), it is this captivating aura that made Lee unforgettable to the audience,...More

[INTERVIEW] Model and actor Kim Jae-wook - Part 1 2010/08/20, Source, Kim Jae-wook [Chae Ki-won/10Asia]
"I don't know where he went. Whether he went to the countryside by himself, whether he went to meet his mother, or he might've been on his way to commit suicide". This was Kim Jae-wook's explanation of his character Hong Jae-wook from SBS TV series "Bad Man" who left alone, leaving everything behind. This man who had always been the first to take on the most 'hot' and trendy roles as proven in MBC drama "Coffee Prince" and film "Antique", always turned his back on the spotlight headed towards him. And he then showed a new side to him through "Bad Man" by playing an heir of a conglomerate who is temperamental and acts the way he pleases, yet on the inside is actually craving for affection. But despite his jobs as being a model, actor and musician, the most attractive aspect to Kim is Kim Jae-wook himself. 10Asia took a peak into the interesting world that this 27-year-old man lives in. 10: It's been about two weeks since shooting for "Bad Man" has ended. How have you been since then?Kim Jae-wook: It feels like it's been more than a month. I did nothing but sleep. I'm tired no matter how much I sleep and the fatigue won't go away,...More

The young, smart woman has no money while a rich, beautiful woman does not know love. Female characters Jae-in (played by Han Ga-in) and Tae-ra (played by Oh Yeon-soo) in SBS TV series "Bad Man" each have a desire that they cannot fulfill. Bad man Gun-wook (played by Kim Nam-gil), whom Jae-in approached when she mistook him for a conglomerate heir and whom Tae-ra wants to steal away from younger sister Monet (played by Jeong So-min), twists their lives into an unexpected direction. What sort of a female character do actresses Han Ga-in, whose image transformed from pure and innocent girl to a materialistic woman who dreams of climbing the social ladder, and Oh Yeon-soo, who plays the elegant married woman swayed by temptation so perfectly, want to show viewers? Kim Jae-wook says Kim Nam-gil "like a time bomb" - Part 1 2010/05/20, Source, "Cold revenge, fiery ambition, fatal love" The catch phrase for new SBS TV series "Bad Man" set to first air on May 26 is strong. The story of a man and a woman who dream of climbing the social ladder and the children of a conglomerate family who fall for their temptation. But at the press conference for this passionate melodrama, one could feel the charm of each actor which increased the anticipation for the show, rather than being a somber setting. Below are the excerpts from the press conference for "Bad Man" with Kim Nam-gil (as Shim Gun-wook) who created the mood with his constant jokes, the well-mannered and honest Han Ga-in (as Moon Jae-in), the experienced 20-year veteran actress Oh Yeon-soo (as Hong Tae-ra) and Kim Jae-wook (as Hong Tae-sung) who would give clear distinctive subjective answers to questions.

Q: Will each cast member explain how you have been preparing to portray your character as well as your determination for the show. Kim Nam-gil (Kim NG): When I was offered the role for "Bad Man" it was a few days after "Queen Seon-deok" finished its run so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to portray a new character because I hadn't emptied myself of my previous character Bidam. The conclusion I came to after discussion with director Lee Hyung-min was that although there may be some areas in which I wouldn't be able to rid myself completely of Bidam, I would try to act with more depth rather than change myself in various ways. That's why I'm putting an effort into depicting my character Shin Gun-wook from "Bad Man" as someone with more depth in terms of both expressing his pain or sadness. Han Ga-in (Han): I hadn't acted in a while so I was worried and had some concerns but after meeting with the director I became greedy about my role because I thought I would be in an environment where I would be able to converse a lot with other people on set. It helps a lot to be able to share your concerns with the rest of the cast on set. I wanted to play a part in making "Bad Man" become a drama that would last in people's memories by portraying my character Jae-in in a way that people could relate to her and have her blend in in a way that the audience will like her,...More
