Staff Reporter MBC is enjoying top ratings with the hit period drama "Queen Seon-deok", and the broadcaster is expected to continue captivating viewers with its new sitcom "High Kick Through The Roof" and dramas "No Limit" and "Assorted Gems" (aka "Jewel Bibimbap"). "No Limit" made headlines when it was confirmed that U-Know from the popular boy group TVXQ would appear as the ambitious football player Cha Bong-gun. It will be the first time for the 23-year-old singer to appear in a television series, and according to the production team, he has been working hard not to disappoint fans. "Even after a long day of filming, I come home and I can't wait to go back to the set", he was quoted as saying by MBC. When asked about his first attempt at acting, the singer said, "I'm pretty brave. Having a limit is like growing up. You have to overcome it to move forward. I think after the drama, I'll probably have grown a lot more than before". The drama revolves...| More

Staff Reporter Last year's domestic drama circle was a year of tough and head-strong women characters, a phenomenon sparked by mega-hit drama "My Lovely Sam-soon" - "My Name is Kim Sam-soon". Sam-soon's positive and independent personality drew a lot of applause from viewers. SBS TV weekend drama "To Heaven", the first hit soap opera of this year and the talk of town among female viewers, turns out to be exactly the opposite. While "My Lovely Sam-soon" - "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" featured a realistic female character, "To Heaven" portrays dependent female characters using all the typical strategies to woo the men they want, depicting unrealistic and extreme love relationships. "To Heaven" revolves around a fierce love rivalry between wealthy and elite television anchor Ye-ri and Cha-kyong, a poor but independent make-up artist over a man named Wang-mo, a gentle journalist-turned-anchor. Cha-kyoung has been raised by her stepmother and knows nothing of her bio...| More

Is it an immoral show emphasizing an inappropriate relationship, or a human drama with maternal love as its theme?SBS's new weekend drama "Love in Heaven" (Korean title: "Haneulisiyeo"), set to debut on September 10 as the follow-up to the show "Summer Typhoon", is becoming the subject of fierce controversy with its first episode yet to air. The problem is the plot's premise: it involves an irregular family relationship, with a woman deliberately marrying her long-abandoned daughter to her own stepson. Ji Yeong-seon (played by Han Hye-seok) finds her lost daughter Lee Ja-gyeong (Yoon Jeong-hee), whom she had abandoned in her youth. As if guided by the hand of fate, Lee is already going out with Ji's own stepson, Gu Wang-mo (Lee Tae-gon). Ji does everything in her power to marry Lee to Gu, and eventually succeeds. The two women form a curious double relationship, as at once mother/daughter and mother-in-law/daughter-in-law. Im Seong-han (45), who is the writer for "Love in ...| More
