Biography

Born in 1974, JANG studied Visual Design at Hongik University in Seoul, Korea. He worked as an assistant director on the Korean films including one by KIM Ki-duk and , by HUH In-moo. His short film "ESCALATOR TO HEAVEN" was shown and acclaimed at many film festivals such as Pucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and San Diego International Film Festival. is his feature debut film.

    The Rotterdam film festival's co-production market CineMart has selected Korean director Jang Cheol-soo's "Service for People" (인민을 위해 복무하라) project for its upcoming 29th edition.     Subtlety is a foreign concept to "Bedevilled", dealing more with superlative than finesse. Not to say that's entirely a shame - in fact, it's more strategic than anything else.
